Hey there! I'm Noelin Wheeler, a tattoo artist with over two decades of experience. My journey began in Alaska in 1997 at Dragon Ray's Tattoo in Anchorage, and since then, I've traversed the globe, honing my craft and pushing the boundaries of tattoo artistry.
You might recognize me from SpikeTV's Ink Master series, "Master Shop." My time on the show was an incredible experience, solidifying my place in the industry and allowing me to showcase my skills to a wider audience. Competing on "team Basilica" in 2017 and securing third place in the live finale in New York was a significant milestone that further fueled my passion for tattooing.
I excel in creating tattoos with intense color saturation and intricate fine-line black and grey realism, but my repertoire spans a wide range of styles, including comic book, 3D art, space, sci-fi, realism, and surrealism. I draw inspiration from the vast universe of art, always striving to innovate while respecting the deep-rooted traditions of tattooing. My goal is to create tattoos that are not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful to my clients.
Tattooing is more than a profession for me; it's a lifelong passion. Each piece I create is a collaborative effort with my clients, aiming to bring their visions to life in a way that is bold, lasting, and uniquely theirs. Whether it's a small, intricate design or a large, detailed piece, I tackle every project with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm.
My career has taken me to numerous esteemed tattoo parlors throughout the United States, including stints in Las Vegas, Nevada. Touring with Ozzfest allowed me to connect with a diverse array of artists and clients, broadening my perspective and enhancing my skills. I've also had the privilege of participating in conventions and guest spots throughout the US, Europe, and the UK, constantly learning and evolving as an artist.
When the worldwide Covid pandemic paused travel and halted conventions to a halt, I seized the opportunity to launch "Savage Son Tattoo," a reboot of my private studio in Austin, Texas. This studio is a culmination of my experiences, a space where creativity and professionalism thrive. Whether I'm at Savage Son Tattoo or on the road, my mission remains the same: to craft outstanding tattoos that embody my passion for the craft and my unwavering dedication to my clients.
Tattooing has given me a platform to express myself artistically while connecting with people from all walks of life. Each tattoo tells a story, and being a part of that storytelling process is incredibly rewarding. My journey from Alaska to Austin, and everywhere in between, has been an amazing adventure, and I look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of tattoo artistry.
