My name is CJ Bond. I co-own Bond Tattoo Studio alongside my beautiful, talented wife, Angel Bond. I have been tattooing professionally for 20 years. Primarily self-taught, I didn’t know what route I wanted to take with my tattoo art for the initial years of my career. I was working as a street shop artist taking on any style that walked in the door. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon the work of Nikko Hurtado, Joshua Carlton, and Mike DeVries that I started to shift my focus to colour realism.
There were no artists in my city who specialized in realism at the time, so I took it upon myself to study the tattoo techniques required to capitalize on an untapped market. Having a strong foundation, it was a fairly simple transition. I fell in love with tattooing and artistic growth from that time forward and haven’t looked back since.
I worked alongside artist/model/studio owner Travis Cadeau for many years. Through that experience, I hired my apprentice Angel who turned out to be my favourite human being ever. I later asked her to marry me and we have grown to have a family business and children of our own. I owe my entire life to my artistic dedication and wouldn’t change it for the world.
